GLASS TREAD AND FLOOR CHARACTERISTICS

Our glass fusion technique, combined with extensive research and development, allows us to offer strong, durable and safe structures that meet the most stringent building standards.
Our 1 ½ inch glass steps can support a load of 1,800 pounds at the centre of a 36-inch-wide tread, making them stronger than granite or stone. In addition, ThinkGlass tread, stairs, walkway and balustrade projects include a lamination film to follow safety standards.
OUR EDGE: UNMATCHED BEAUTY
ThinkGlass treads have the smoothest, most translucent edge on the market. They show no visible lamination lines, whereas conventional techniques have glue lines that distort the purity of the glass … much like comparing real wood and laminated wood!
When it is backlit, all its splendour is diffused in the room!
ANTI-SKID SURFACE
ThinkGlass treads and floors are available in a variety of textures that not only provide an organic feel, but a non-slip surface to meet all safety standards.
ThinkGlass treads and floors meet ASTM (section c1028), Underwriters Laboratories (UL-410) and ADA “coefficient of friction” standards.
Lamination
We apply an invisible laminating film to stair treads, railings and walkways to secure the glass. This way, our customers are confident about our products’ safety, which is our priority!
